Homework: Homework will be completed online (using the ALEKS website) and graded based on the consistency and completion of the tasks. All assigned problems must be completed on time to receive full credit. No late homework will be accepted for the remaining 14 weeks of this course because all coursework is reopened for full credit during the final two weeks of the semester.
Quizzes: ALEKS will assign a 20-point online quiz every week (except during test weeks). They must be completed in one sitting and are timed (with plenty of time to spare). Each question gives you two chances to respond. There will be no make-up or late quizzes for any reason, but there will be one extra credit quiz! Discussions: A 20-point discussion will be offered each week (unless during exam weeks and weeks with a substantial holiday). There are thirteen conversations scheduled throughout the semester. On Friday nights, discussions are due on Canvas at 11:59 p.m. There will be no make-up or late discussion entries for any reason, though one additional credit discussion will be held.
Exams: There will be one online midterm test and one online final exam on ALEKS, worth 100 and 200 points each. The examinations are designed to evaluate your understanding of the content covered in the course. They may include questions that combine topics from several sections of the text or that assess your understanding of a term. There are no make-up exams, and no exam grades are ever dropped.
